I’m a British freelance web developer, media designer and photographer working in South Tyrol, (Italian Alps) and in various locations throughout the UK. I’ve been providing digital media solutions for more than 25 years, during which time I’ve enjoyed working closely with clients at home and abroad.
Projects have been varied and often challenging, requiring further (and continuing) personal development in software, hardware and creative processes. Learning is just simply unavoidable and synonymous with design.
As creative director, contracted to work in Rome, I teamed up with a talented team of graphic and animation artists, integrated within the department of online development, providing digital solutions to numerous industries and cultural entities.
Trade shows and museum installation design, including 360° screens, and websites continued as part of my portfolio during this time and following the contract conclusion. This included collaborating on huge extravaganzas in Saudi Arabia and the Emirates such as Dubai World Cup - Meydan.
Experience includes producing and directing:
- Projection mapping / architectural mapping
- Projection on waterscreens
- Programming of large scale multi-screen projections
- Content for large multi-screen projection shows and events
- Visual content for shows and events
- Video clips
- Motion graphics - 2D and 3D, simulations, particle systems, title generation, event titles, show reels, explanatory videos, key visuals for events or brands
- User interface design (UID)
- Event design (overall event conception)
- Interactive exhibits (various sensors, multi-touch devices, touch tables, touch screen, non-contact sensor systems, etc.)
- Peppers Ghost / "Holoprojection"
In 2007 I co-founded Luce Dipinta Multivisioni, a non-profit cultural association producing projects that use image and sound, performance art, video mapping, one-off events and festivals. Encouraging a wider understanding and potential of the ever-expanding digital technology and associated production processes. I also developed and maintain Luce Dipinta’s website.
Included in this website are new areas of work and play such as the Lorem Ipsum Project, to highlight an on-going love affair with projections, and to offer prints and greeting cards directly online - using photographs from my archive.
